What is Renewable Energy?

Home / Alternative Energy Solutions / What is Renewable Energy?

Renewable energy is a type of energy that is supplied through nature such as, wind, sunlight, ocean tides, rain, and geothermal heating. These is all energy sources that are renewable from nature and do not leave a negative / toxic footprint afterwards. There is a wide range of renewable energy products that can be used to power houses, offices, businesses and manufacturing and supply chains. These products include solar panels, wind turbines, hydroelectricity/ micro hydro, biomass and biofuels for transportation.
Renewable energy is energy that can be replenished on a regular basis constantly like sunlight (use a solar panel), Wind (use a wind turbine), water (the use of hydroelectricity) and bio mass (waste that is burned for power). Ocean waves can also be used to create electricity.
Biomass is a renewable organic matter that can be found in things like, waste, wood, alcohol fuels, and recently living organisms. Waste energy is used in two different ways, one is to let the waste turn to gas and then use the gas to create energy or two is to use the waste to create energy through a burning process. Wood energy is created from wood harvesting or from wood waste.
Other biomass energy/ fuel are ethanol from corn and other plant oils. These oils are collected from plants and or animals and can be turned into fuel to be used to create electricity or mostly for transport.
